Some menus (sometimes) are misaligned with the menu bar title. I notice it most on the "View" menu and "Window" menus, but it's not consistent app-to-app. Sometimes the view menu is fine and so is the window menu. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for this misalignment, but it's visually annoying to me. Why not just align them all to the left like most menus are?

Interestingly, the Finder seems unaffected at first, but when you open a new Window, the view and window menus will be misaligned until you force quit Finder again.

I’ve seen this discussed before and there is a rhyme or reason...sort of. It has to do with the checkmark that shows up on the left in some menus. If there is a checkmark in the menu, then it's not aligned as some would prefer.

I think Apple's intention is to align the text in the menu with the text in the menu bar, not aligning the menu box itself as you have done. I believe it was the other way in older macOS versions, but then the text didn't line up. Not sure they can do it both ways without making the spacing in the menu bar even wider to accommodate a potential checkmark.

Now that you say that, I'm more okay with it! I get it now! The text lines up, but the check mark is just the extra part that needs a little more room. It would explain why it's mostly the window and view menus as usually there's a check box for which window or view is selected.

Thank you for explaining that for me.
