Has anyone mounted a Mac mini behind a TV and used a keyboard and mouse from the couch? If yes, will the bluetooth apple keyboard and mouse stay connected if it's behind the tv, about 14ft away?

I often hookup my laptop to my 75" TV with an HDMI cable to cull photos from the couch but if I can hide a mini behind the TV and have a solid keyboard and mouse connection then I'll do that with an M4 mini.

Yes. It'll work well at that distance.
Okay, when I say mounted behind the TV I mean sandwiched in between the TV and wall, very tight so the mini is totally hidden not visible, and mounted near the center of the TV in the back. Just want to make sure this is what you were envisioning.

My Mini is in a cabinet under the TV. It ought to be the same. Many people put AppleTVs there and they work fine. This would be no different.

Okay, I'll give it a try.

Now another question for everyone....is there a mouse/keyboard solution to work from a Mac mini that is located in an equipment closet that's not near the local TV? I have a distributed video system where I could hookup a mini to downstairs in the closet and I would be able to send that video to a few different TV's around the house, but I don't know if there's a solution that will allow a mouse/keyboard to work from a bedroom TV location?

That's an interesting question. I am not aware of any remote keyboard/mouse/trackpad solutions.

You might consider turning Screen Sharing on on the Mini, and controlling it using a roaming MacBook. You could still display the video on a bedroom TV.

Hmmm, so does screen sharing work with wifi then? Because the Bedroom and MacBook would be upstairs in a bedroom and the Mac Mini would be downstairs in an an equipment closet.

Screen sharing works between two computers anywhere in the world as long as they can connect over a network. On you home network they will see other without any special network configuration.
