Hi

I have a space black Ti S6 and ordered the silver SS with ML. I was thinking I wanted a watch that looked more “traditional”, lighter, and worked with a wider range of bands.

I have always had either SB SS or SB Ti. Now I am having second thoughts.
Has anyone moved from SB to Silver SS and liked it?

I will admit that I think silver SS draws more attention. I went SS graphite thinking the 45mm might look ever so slightly smaller on my smallish wrists. I think stainless SS looks classier.

I’ve gone from graphite to SS with the Milanese for the exact same reason, the darker apple watches look great although the SS reminds me most of a traditional watch, especially with the leather link, SS link and Milanese bracelets.

I did have a slight reservation but then thought I’d like something different from last year and can always go darker next year.

I also SB Ti (series 5) and am contemplating going to silver SS.

SB Ti is in fantastic condition: no scratches of any kind. Loved how light it was and always felt very premium. Looking forward to getting SS though.

I’ve had all of those options, SS looks great but scratches so very easy. Yes you can buff it out but I much prefer SBTi, SBSS or Ceramic where I don’t have to worry about scratches.

My movement is the opposite: from graphite SS S6 to natural titanium S7! I was tired of the super shining look and cleaning the case from my fingers all the time, (and the graphite is less noticeable than the silver)

When using the solo braided loop does anyone know if the silver part is noticeable on the SS versions? Or does it kind of blend in?

As others have already pointed out, silver SS is the most like a traditional watch. It also the most versatile finish, going with almost every band Apple has ever made. It matches the silver pin on most sport bands and you can pair it with an old Classic Buckle (or Hermes if you want to spend some $$) and the matching silver lugs will really elevate the look. You basically never have to worry about mismatched hardware with the silver watch.

The silver does scratch, but it’s a non issue. Nobody (and I really mean nobody) can tell at a normal viewing distance because the silver is so reflective. Someone would have to be inspecting the watch to see the scuffs. Also, 99% of people do not care watch model watch you have or if it is scuffed. You can polish out the scratches if they bug you. But the only person who will ever notice either way is you.

I tried a SBSS S5 before going back to SS with the S6. Loved how the SBSS looked like a single, continuous piece. But the silver SS looked more like a traditional watch, which was more what I was going for.

Thanks @MacDevil7334. I originally thought of the Hermes SS, but I tend to get a rash from many leather bands. Why purchase the Hermes, if there was a good chance I might not be able to wear the watch with the leather band?

Hermes has a non leather band, but to me, their leather bands are a “natural” for the watch.

I find the ML easiest to manage. I have not tried the new type of loop bands, but May in the future.

SS is the heaviest AW available
I am aware of that. What point are you making relative to the thread? Are you suggesting that is an issue to be considered?
You literally said you went SS because you wanted a lighter watch..
Maybe I am missing something as English is not my native language, in that case I apologize

I have had the SS Hermes and Series 7 will be my 3rd SBSS. While the SS may draw more attention to the watch itself, I am more interested in the attention my Hermes Bands get. I personally do not like the how shines the SS is and how easily it is scratched. That is why on my Rolex’s I pot for their jubilee band as I don’t want to look at scratches. I love my SBSS Hermes, at this point I would not go back to SS unless forced to be cause Apple and Hermes decided not to offer that finish in their Apple Watch partnership.

I have a SBSS series 4 and went for a graphite this time around as a compromise. I’m on a 3 year upgrade cycle so I can’t trust myself with the silver SS being in good shape after 3 years of use.

I’ve had about all the finishes except for the black Ti. My favorite all around and best value of the higher end watches is the SS. It just goes with everything and looks great! I currently don’t have one as I opted for the Silver Ti which is really nice as well, but I think the SS edges it out. The Ti is a bit more understated.

I had SS original Apple Watch, then SBSS series 3 which I did not like that look, then a SS series 4, then a SS series 5, and Friday a SS series 7.
