Thinking of needing an upgrade on my iMac. Don't use as much now really with iPhone and iPad, but don't think ready yet to leave fully. Mainly as for iCloud photo really, as you can't do certain things on iOS compared to MacOS.

So my iMac is late 2012, and to be fair it's running ok, maybe a bit slow now as my photo library is up to 650Gb, full resolution on my iMac.

So maybe a Mac mini, even a used/refurb one newer than my iMac. What I was thinking was do many people use it with their TV? The "move" bit I mention above is, I could buy a monitor for a different place in house when have to. Do people use Mini's in different places?

I like the iMac all in one and it's served me great, but it's more of a cost issue now as I'm the only one who uses the iMac, kids and wife have iPad's and own computer now so it's not used much.

....other option is suppose a Mac laptop and connect to a TV or monitor...?

Thoughts please....
Thanks

Old 09 Minis make great TV drivers up to 1080i. They are dirt cheap, and we have one on every TV in the house.
We also run one on a rolling cart with a 24" Vizio 1080i and multiple ac power terminals, this we use

for trouble shooting. The 2012's are even better yet. We run one those on a 32" TCL TV. It is the fastest of them all .LOL A2
