Anyone notice certain apps load slower since jailbreaking?

Particularly Messages and Safari, messages annoys me the most though because it often literally takes several seconds of a blank white screen before my list of text conversations appears when I open the app.

Is there any way to fix this? Are there certain tweaks/apps that cause this/slow the phone down in particular?

Hmm I had all of those tweaks on my 4S on 5.1.1 (except sleipnizer + swipenav) and didn't have performance issues.

You should note that having many apps open uses RAM, and using certain tweaks can use a lot of RAM.

Thus, you may have an app running that consumes lots of RAM, and combined with the tweaks, is slightly slowing down performance.

I have 5.01. Would downloading one of those app closer tweaks help?
 
i'd uninstall one app at a time starting with sleipnizer + swipenav and see you you notice a difference. might be a case where you have to decide if you want the tweek or speed

Yeah, I don't know if I can go back to not having all of these tweaks/shortcuts....they make a huge difference and make the phone way more efficient.

I've heard winterboard slows it down some, is that true?

themes can slow it down not winterboard it's self..

Winterboard absolutely kills your device speed. Lliterally murders it. The guys above me said it's just themes, and themes can contribute to it, but Winterboard is very old and inefficient, and simply having it installed can produce noticeable lag and hangtime.

Dreamboard is similar to Winterboard (if you're looking for a replacement), it runs more quickly, but has (much) fewer themes (though many are much cooler than anything you could find for Winterboard).

If any other tweaks you listed could possibly cause slowness, it's Zephyr, as that is a fairly extensive tweak, but honestly, I have never seen a complaint about it before, while for Winterboard, I can personally confirm it, as can many other people.

The only reason I have winterboard is for transparent status bar. Is there any other way to achieve this?
