Yep. He may be contracted with Apple, but it doesn’t sound like he’s an employee anymore. Makes sense.

He doesn't work for the company anymore, so it does not come as a surprise.

Well he’s still shown on the leadership page and was at the event yesterday. Though apparently he got scolded by an employee for touching one of the devices on display. :D

No, aluminium. Bloody Americans can't even type it properly ;)

Hate to disappoint but I'm not american, not even on the same continent to be precise, however, I'm pretty fluent in both in written and verbal communication in English

Moreover; WHOOSH :D

Jony Ive, being British, would pronounce (and spell) it the correct way as aluminium, much to the amusement of Americans who pronounce (and spell) it aluminum.

WHOOSH returned ;)

I wasn’t sure that he would actually be at the keynote. But what people don’t know about Jony Ive, he’s actually very introverted and doesn’t usually like to make ‘stage appearances’, so Apple not using his voice-over during the keynote, was probably a factor to him. But I see why they used his voice over the years (Aside from his design participation), it’s very suave and draws your attention with his accent.

As how to pronounce the word Aluminium (spelled according to my Merriam-Webster dictionary app).

There was once a brash American visiting London and was checking into a posh hotel. The desk clerk gave him his key and told him, “Sir, your room is on the fourth floor, you will find the lift around the corner.”

“The what?” Asked the American. “The lift,” replied the desk clerk, “to take you up to your room.”

“Oh,” replied the American, “You mean the elevator.”

“Here we refer to it as a lift, sir,” replied the clerk.

“Well we invented the consarned thing, and we call it an elevator.” Said the American.

“We invented the language, and we call it a lift.” Replied the clerk.

Since the language we speak is called English, because they invented it, then they should have priority on how words should be pronounced.

Let’s shine a torch on it as we take the lift to second floor.

I never can watch these presentations to the end. They get too tedious and boring. Have to turn it off. In the past, when ive's irritating voiceover would come on, I'd immediately shut down my device. Man that guy's babble speak was just way too a annoying
