Immediately jumped in the forums today to đź’© on the idea of an Apple Car once it was announced and it sent the TSLA S&P500 stock debut tanking?
My personal take, as someone who is an admitted Apple fan and not a TSLA fan (no stock held): TSLA's whole shtick to investors and the media is that they're gonna be the Apple of cars, which sounds great on paper. When Apple themselves announce they're making cars too, that whole shtick goes away and suddenly invites a lot more scrutiny from investors.
People who have seen my posts on this forum over the years know that I have raked Apple when I have felt they deserved it (some argued it wasn't, but that's why we're all here). But I have gotten a little sick and tired of every wannabe SV startup spouting Jobs quotes and thinking that's all that earned Apple the rep. They discount how much tech and executive leadership work SJ actually did to make Apple a success (bringing his NeXT OS into macOS development, negotiating with Gates/MS) in order to get Apple to solid footing and the level of dominance today.
