I just happened to check to see how much space I had on my iPhone and I noticed that the "Other" portion was very high at around 196 MB. I only have 2 webclips and I want to say it was much lower before the update. Anyone else notice this?

Similar here - was at about 195MB of "other" files after upgrade, which seemed high to me. Tried a restore, disappointingly went down only to 189MB, and slowly heading back up again while syncing my content back to the phone.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A93 Safari/419.3)

My "Other" total went up after upgrading my iPod Touch to 1.1.3.

I cleared all the apps off my phone and restored the Application folder back to the system partition before I ran the 1.1.3 install.
Even after all that, I still have 248.6MB of "Other"

YES! I just posted the below in another thread...was your iPhone Jailbroken before you Updated?

I just RESTORED and INSTALLED 1.1.3
I had a JB iPhone but was fine with giving in to the Update.
For some reason, I now have 193.6MB of OTHER. Any idea what this could be?
Oddly enough, I still have the APP that Erica Sadun created at tuaw where you can change the Carrier Name to whatever you want. It still says MY own personal name, even after the RESTORE and UPDATE.
Thanks for any help!

I noticed the same thing after the update. Did a full restore + set up as new phone to see if that would fix it (it didn't), and after loading my media, I'm at 198.1MB.

I hope this isn't a nasty side effect of new features... I mean 20MB? Sure. Even 50? 60? OK. But almost 200MB is space I could be using for an album or two.

EDIT: Oh! I was jailbroken at some point. Twice, I think. But I did some restores and set-ups since then while trying to troubleshoot an unrelated album art issue.

Ok...how do you get to the "other" capacity? I'm still on 1.1.2

Ok...I was looking on my iphone for "other". But anyways...mine says 38MB. I just updated to 1.1.3

This may have something to do with the new version of iTunes. I plugged my iPhone in to my other Mac which I hadn't updated yet, and "Other" was back to around 25MB.

Mine is 28.4 MB after the upgrade. When I upgrade the new firmware, I choose download (to iTunes) and upgrade option.

I updated my iPhone and it stayed fairly low, i then updated iTunes and its shot up to 192 mb

my other is 77.2 mb, I updated from 1.1.1 jailbroken, uninstalled all my apps prior to updating. If it makes a difference I have a 4gb iPhone.

I jailbroke mine before but I did a restore and it's still up there. I wonder if this update put everything on that we need for the 3rd party apps coming soon.

28.2MB, just like it was before the update I believe. My iPhone is so brimmed with music it couldn't have changed much :D

It used to be 28.4 MB (Others), but when I installed new iTunes version 7.6 my others went up to 207.3 MB. Really strange.

I win!

mine is 337MB! That's massive. Will try a restore tomorow. I called iPhone support at apple and they said it was large, but to wait for another update to see.. Yeah sure.
