You dont need to keep your finger on the progress bar when adjusting the progress of a song. Its pretty nifty

not only that, but as you move your finger further from the bar, the scrubbing (adjusting) rate changes so you can more finely position the time in the song

apple have shown this feature before, the lower down your finger is the more accurate the position changer is
