I just replaced my MacBook Air 13' 2020 with the new 15'. The lid on the new machine seems to wobble much more than the old one, especially on my lap. Anyone else feels the same way?

My guess is that the whole computer is wobbling on whatever surface you are using it on. Mine certainly does not have any wobble at all.

I actually think my BTO model's screen hinge is a bit tight; I almost have to pry it open. My screen won't wobble even if I wanted it to. Probably just depends on who screwed it together during assembly. I would swap/exchange.

yeah I have decided to exchange for a new one.

Wouldn't we expect the 15” overall to wobble more on one's lap than the 13” MBA?

I mean it's physically wider and deeper, and weighs more.

15.3” 2023 13.4 x 9.35 x .45 inches 3.3 lbs
13.6” 2023 11.97 x 8.46 x .44 inches 2.7

Of course, Shui, you were referring to the lid itself. Not sure why, if it has a loose hinge, the wobble would depend on whether it was on your lap or on a desk!

Perhaps, you could describe the “wobble” a bit more…

Do let us know if your new one is any better!

I'm not sure what the OP meant but I've had this problem for the few months I've had the 15" M2. Anytime it's on a table if I move it slightly, it wobbles. It's a first-world problem but definitely annoying.

I think with all these models having different quirks like this and the trackpad texture issue, etc just comes down to bad QC on Apple’s end. I’ve seen some YouTubers mention this. Nothing much we can do and take it for what it is.
