With all this attention on the m2 air throttling/SSD issues, comparing it to the m1 air, m2 and m1 pros, etc...

I was wondering if anyone has done a comparison of the m2 air vs. windows laptops around the $1200 price point?

I can guarantee no other non-apple laptop in this price range has received so much scrutiny in the tech world like the m2 air has, so it'd be interesting to see just how many non-apple laptops have these same m2 'issues' and more importantly how that translates into real world usage.

My bet is that the m2 air would be up there in terms of performance/efficiency/battery life and design as an overall package when compared to other laptops.

Personally i think the whole SSD issue is blown out of hand, so was wondering if comparing it to other windows laptops at this price point will bring back some perspective.

For $1,000 on the PC side, you already get 90Hz OLED, 12th Gen i7, and 512GB storage. The typical PC notebook at that price has an SSD with about 3 GB/sec read and 1 GB/sec write.

Windows users understand there are tradeoffs. MacBook absolutely wins performance/watt. It's just the slow SSD is another tradeoff. It's rare that you go backwards in terms of storage performance. People understand performance can remain the same but going backwards is difficult to accept.
