I was recently considering buying a new internal drive for my Rev A dual-2.0, which has already two internal 160GB SATA drives. I was stymied, though, by a lack of cards that allowed for external SATA connections - if I was going to take out one or both 160's, I wanted to put them into an external SATA enclosure and connect them via SATA. I found enclosures that took internal SATA drives and had external SATA plugs, but no card for my Mac (aside from ones with internal SATA connections only). I don't want to fork out $400 for the internal enclosure that allows you to add additional drives inside the G5.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon LaCie's latest: external SATA drives that, for now, come with a dual-SATA PCI card. See here. If I get one, I could then, in the future, upgrade internally and put the "old" 160 into an external SATA enclosure and connect it to the second SATA plug in the card LaCie provides. Meanwhile, I get more of that SATA goodness.

I've always been happy with LaCie, and I'm curious if anyone here has one of the new external SATA's - I'd appreciate a review!
