Anyone play Garry's Mod

I was just wondering if any of you folks play Garry's Mod. If you don't know what it is.
Garry's Mod is a mod for the first-person shooter computer game Half-Life 2. It allows the player to manipulate objects and experiment with the physics, often with interesting results thanks to the Source engine. The construction of complex machines within the game can also be a contemporary spin on the Rube Goldberg machine principle.

I bought this a while ago and really haven't played it much just due to lack of time...really quite interesting though. If you are on a Mac the only way to play it it to have a decent intel machine and run it in windows.

You can't. He means in Boot Camp. I love the thing, but none of my creations ever work...

I just spend my time creating scenarios that don't involve buttons, cannons, or traps. Oh, and going through the actual games with Gmod tools. Incidentally, do you know how to make Garry's Mod see the Episode 1, 2, TF2, and Portal levels?
 
Garry's Mod is fully possible to play through CrossOver on Mac OS.

I had it installed, but you notice there is not native support for it through CrossOver.

Basicly, all the text in options and item list is gone, so you dont see what the text says. But still runs very good apart from that fault.

that's what they say, but my mac says otherwise and locks up in the loading screen.
 
I have crossover games, crossover works and I downloaded Steam. But it doesn't seem to download gmod when I try to download from Safari? What do I do?

I play the free one from time to time, Garry's Mod 8, 9 maybe? I forget where they're up to.

Exactly. The previous Garry's Mod versions were free. Now warez, not illegally downloaded. It was a freeware mod.
 
i play gmod but am limited to single player and very few multiplayer servers because i dont know how download maps and other content can anyone help?
 
I love this mod and validated users can get massive amounts of impressive mods like archived versions of dismemberment mod, maps, and new weapons from http://www.garrysmod.org/ for those who are interested. Also, the official gmod wiki should point you to recent SVN repositories for SpaceBuild3, PHX3 and Wire as well. Thanks for your interest in Gmod! :)

This is a great find, but sadly not usable with Steam for Mac. Valve didn't include mod support for the initial release of ported Source engine, so we Mac users are out of luck.
 
playing gmod on a mac

yeah you can get Gmod 11 for you mac its what i currently use right now i didn't get it legitimately (and i don't know how to) i don't need to use crossover or boot camp to play it. the only problem i am facing with it is that i don't know how to play online if anybody know please tell me :)
