Anyone play with Outlook for the Mac yet?

Has anyone gotten their hands on Outlook for the Mac yet. How does it compare to Apple mail? I am only interested in the email client part. Can this be separated from the rest of outlook?

Can this synch with the iphone? If so how?

Are there alternative email clients for the Mac that are better than apple mail? By this, i mean non web based clients.

According to MacBU, the Outlook will be enhanced in stages. It won't sync directly to Google calendar...but will "in a few months".

David Pogue trashed the 2011 Suite in his review..
