iPad Anyone pull the trigger on the $579 64GB iPad 4 refurb?

... I seriously want to upgrade to the 64GB or the 128GB. but $579 for the refurb 64GB is just such an awesome price. has anyone gotten this refurb from apple, and what version of iOS is installed? being able to jailbreak it is the deal-breaker for me. I could just buy it and return it if its not on 6.1.2, but then again I already got in trouble for my last thead about returns. :rolleyes:
 
I ordered two iPad minis in the last month. The 16GB I got came with 6.1.3. The 32GB I got 2 weeks later had 6.0.x (I forget the exact revision).

I really think there's no way of knowing what version you'll get out of the box.

well yeah... no way of knowing of course... just curious. if other people cold chime in that would be wonderful. interesting that your 32GB came with a lower firmware. a friend purchased a 128GB model from the grove yesterday and it came fully jailbreakable on iOS 6.1. awesome huh?

As you clearly want the device, get it then follow your own advice, on what to do if you are not happy
 
im not asking if I should get it, just wondering what firmware people who have purchased it got... thanks ;)
 
Meh, that price isn't that great, I got my new 64 gig wifi all in with tax for $630 on black friday.
 
Why does it matter what version comes with the iPad? Is there something stopping you from updating it?

i have a rather extensive collection of classic console emulators and complete ROM collections that make it very important for me to retain jailbreakable devices. And yes, I actually own the original cartridges as well... but playing Super NES in perfect full speed emulation with a classic controller connected to a Wiimote connected to the iPad 4 via Bluetooth connected to the TV via 1080P HDMI connection is a new level of awesome playability and convenience. The perfect emulators available for iOS include NES, gameboy advance, Super NES, Genesis/Master System, TB16 and far more. a niche audience, but I'd argue is one that would agree with me that playing an emulation system with a genuine nintendo controller is something you aren't likely to shrug off so apple can install its worthless point upgrades to make sure you cant use the jailbreak.

I just ordered the WiFi/Cellular 32GB iPad 4 refurb for $609. It's worth the price considering I'm only going to have it till the iPad 5 is released.
