iPod touch Anyone pumped for the iPod Touch 4g release?

I'm excited for the release, I sold my 3G so I could get money for the next generation. I'm like 99.9% sure that there's going to be a 4G this September. It's happened the last 3 years.

It'd be nice if the next iPod Touch 4g is gonna be like this (w/ facetime of course).

So, I was just wondering what do you guys think the new iPod Touch will have? How many megapixels do you think the camera will have (if it does have one)

I'm thinking,
-Camera; stills and video (I'm hoping it's iPhone 4 quality)
-FaceTime
-Better battery life**
-Gyroscope
-Faster processor

-Retina display??
-Better backing???.. the chrome scratches way too easily (but I kinda doubt it)

Yes we are all excited as you can tell by the other 5,000 threads we have for this.

And btw, that pic you posted is a fake.... just to let you know :)
 
I'm pretty excited too! Just trying to predict but it's hard since even if we think simplicity before complexity, Apple has their ways to surprise!

Yup... sold my 2nd gen last week... and still haven't updated my sig! :rolleyes:

I can see a lot of disappointed and angry people this fall (same thing that always happens :) ).

The Touch is very price sensitive and will only get some of the upgrades people have listed. Based on the evidence so far, it's probably a safe bet to say that the Touch is getting the iPhone 4 front VGA camera.

What will happen this fall is
- MacRumors will announce the new Touch. People will give the post more negative then positive votes.
- People will complain that the feature they want (i.e. rear camera) is not on the new Touch and will greatly complain about both Apple and the new Touch.
- Then they will start complaining about the price and how it should be lower even though there is more in the new Touch.
- Then they will then for the next year, tell everyone that they are waiting on the next competitor (Android or Zune update) before they buy one. They will also start telling everyone not to get the new Touch since obviously a revision is coming out soon.
- Many people will lament that they sold their previous Touch.

It happens every year....
 
Is this going to be a thread on everyone posting "I want it"? :)

Obviously 95% of all people in a mac based forum are going to be excited by the newest release of a pretty good product. :apple:
 
Haha, I'm pumped. I think I'm more excited about the rumors/leaks than the actual touch, and right on schedule like last year. It's about mid-August when the rumors pour in. I still have to save up a little more money for the touch though.
 
Yes, I could careless about the previous iPods, but if this comes with a front facing camera I will pick one up :D
 
I'm pumped! The rumors seem promising, but I don't want to get my hopes up. It's hard though...I really want to believe them.
 
iPod Touch, 4th Gen!

Well, i personally cant wait, the sooner it comes out the better, id love to have it for my holidays, but, unless it comes out before the 28th of August, that wont happen......

I absolutely consider the lack of monthly bill an upgrade...especially that here in Canada you're stuck for 3 years...Bring on the(new) Ipod touch...:)

Ehh, although it seems like I have a lot to ask for.. I'm just hoping there'll be AT LEAST a good quality camera with video and stills.. I know what you mean. Hopes were killed last year xD

Let's cross our fingers! Hope Apple won't disappoint. :eek:
 
Yup, I'm pretty excited about the new iPod touch. I don't really care about the cameras though. I just want the full features of iOS 4, and the speed of the iPhone 4. My iPod touch has been insufferably slow lately, and I need to upgrade from that. :p
 
I'm totally pumped. I just recently owned an iPhone 4 for about a week. So in other words, I have been to the top of the mountain, and it is good. I really really hope the Touch gets the Retina display, the cameras, built in mic, and the A4 cpu.

Wished I coulda kept the iPhone, but for a number of reasons, I felt it was best to stick with my dirt cheap virgin mobile phone. I'm hoping the iPod touch will help ease the pain. Cause after using that iPhone, every electronic device pales in comparison.
 
Ugh so many models of the ipod already... Another one? I don't even think i'm in the ipod loop anymore. I just have the shuffle and it's a peice of annoying crap.:mad:

Time to ditch that annoying piece of crap, and get a real iPod maybe? Seriously, I don't blame you for hating life having to use a Shuffle for your music.
 
I am! My brother's birthday is in September and he is excited for an iPod touch. An August release gives plenty of time to buy it.

Is the shuffle truly an ipod? I wouldnt think so.... Time to get a real iPod!
