Is anyone purposely waiting a couple weeks because of quality control issues?

Seems like every new mobile product has some weird quirk to deal with.

A few weeks wouldn't matter with that except perhaps an iOS update. But there are likely to be better sales on them this month. They discounted the ipad 4 to like 429 last year around black friday. We should see similar with ipad Air especially since the Mini retina will be the hot item.

Yep and you would not be shut out in case there is any limitation of store stock on hand.

Within hours, folks would probably report issues on this forum regardless anyways.

Does iPad garner there same 30-day return period as iPhone?

Not waiting. Buying at Best Buy and because I am an Elite Plus member, there is a 45 day return policy for me.

Assuming they have any in stock....

i waited purposely with my iPad 2 purchase because of all the drama about the "light leak issues".

long story short, i still had light leakage, but i wouldn't have noticed it if i didn't listen read all the "omgomgomg" threads before and i never notice it nowadays - turned out to be a non issue.

I went through the grey/yellow/green/pink screen fiasco on the iPad 3. I got it on launch day. I simply returned it to Apple and waited three months before buying the perfect screen one I've had since.

Hope I don't have to go through that again, but will follow the same path if it happens.
