anyone replace iMac screen with a third party display?

I have a late 2104 iMac Retina 5K that works flawlessly but has a shattered display. Noticed on eBay you can buy new (I assume Chinese knock offs) replacement displays for $400. Anyone do this?

I doubt if those are knock offs.
Probably they are just redundant stocks of spare parts.
Probably they are old parts salvaged from broken iMacs.
In such cases, they will fit fine to the iMacs of the same models.
Our local shop do it all the times. They offer 2 options: New spare parts or old parts saved from same model iMacs.
