Hey all i went to blockbuster to find a couple of movies to rent and picked up iron man, hulk, and indiana jones. I had the happening in my hands but the guy at the counter said it was not a good movie. I put it back on the shelf as i wasnt going to spend the money on a bad movie. Now i'm wondering if anyone has seen it and if so was it worth the $5 to rent it?

I have an unlimited monthly cinema pass, and that film had Zooey Deschanel in it.

...and after what my friends said, I still couldn't bring myself to go see it.

IMDB gives it over 5/10, which means it's bearable. But it is a M Night Shyamalan film, and they don't usually tickle me at all.

In four words ... that movie was awful.
In more words ... the acting was stale, the plot was ridiculously lame and predictable, and I feel a five year old could have written better lines.
So congrats!! You just saved 5 dollars.

I would give it maybe a 6? Although I kept laughing at Wahlburg's acting. I had just watched that SNL skit, "Mark Wahlburg talks to animals." Hilarious!

Congrats!! You've just described every M Night Shyamalan film to date!

;)

I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I don't get what was so "horrible". I thought it was fun, little creepfest of a movie. And I'm a super critical guy.

I thought it was by all means terrible. Seriously, it was bad. I am not considering M. Knight Shamalan (sp?) "The Sixth Sense" to be the exception not the rule for his films.

i never saw the village b/c i heard what i was about and thought it sounded dumb. I may rent this if it goes on the blockbuster favorites section (only b/c it would be a free rental)

On a side note anyone know if any good movies out there to rent? i went and was very unsure of what to rent.

The Happening is very stupid.

The Strangers I saw at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. :( It was crap.

Oh yeah ... that's why I wanted to see this movie in the first place. I was expecting quite a lot of it thinking it would be good like the sixth sense.

I hate how expectations really screw with the movie quality sometimes.
Other times -like with "the happening"- I just hate how crappy movies ruin my expectations.

I don't like most of M. Night Shyamalamadingdongs' (sp?) movies but I did think The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were good. Because of them I keep giving him the benefit of a doubt but leave the theatre disappointed. I know he's got some talent buried in there somewhere.

Your going to pay for a movie? download it man.

Yes its a very good movie

i honestly prefer to watch a movie on my tv, i have tried to watch on my computer but it isn't the same. Where do you download and is it legal? i don't want the feds knocking down my door.
