I am curious as to whether anyone here is stil using the now soon to be 5 year old Macbook Pro. I know the new ones are tempting but with a SSD and 16gb of ram this one still does my general tasks without a hitch. I have MacOS Sierra currently and it runs perfectly fine with no issues.

I have the 11 inch. No issues or slowdowns on mine either.

Edit: misread the title. I have the AIR, not Pro.

I still use my base mid-2012, but I also added an SSD and 16GB of RAM. It's a little tank and still does what I need it to for work, but maaaaaaan the display on my 2016 15" just puts it to shame.

I've edited a lot of videos and made a lot of music on my 2012 so it feels like it's part of the family now.

Mine's been my daily driver since release date. Works good enough since I put an SSD in last year. Still, I'll probably upgrade either this year or next due to its 2-3hr battery life (not worth replacing this late in its lifetime IMO), display, and some performance issues (crashes on anything newer than CS6)

My 15" 2012 rMBP is getting used, mostly by my kids but I've been using it more because I like the larger display. The battery doesn't last as long as it used too, but its still a solid computer

Yah I'd like to replace my battery but I'm honestly tempted to jump to a new MacBook or something but we'll see. I was also curious how it handles Pro type applications such as Adobe since those are intense. I'm lucky as the most intense thing I do is having Safari open with maybe 10 tabs and iTunes in background. Very simple uses and then my iPad is actually what I take with me everywhere and it does the same tasks great if not alittle smoother and quicker than my Pro does.

My non-retina Mid-2012 13" is going well, too, especially after getting its HD and cable replaced a couple months ago. I've only now gotten the "service battery" warning and am considering getting the battery replaced rather than buying a whole new laptop.

My iPad 2, though, is getting laggy, and won't support iOS 10, either...

Love mine. IMHO the last truly worthwhile Mac. I bought my original in September 2012, then Apple replaced it in June 2015 with a Retina Pro in warranty, I sold that and bought an i7 Mid 2012 non retina pro plus a 1TB SSD. Still very very happy with it and hope to get many more years out of it :)
