I just read a blog post on OWC suggesting that even the 15" models with SATA 3 enabled in the optical bay do not work correctly with 6.0Gb SSD drives.

Anyone with empirical evidence to the contrary? Or to confirm?

The 15" has reliable 6G in the main bay. Even though OWC says they have yet to find a reliable 6G optibay, mine works while my main bay doesn't (I'm pretty sure I'm one of the first to be successful with it in a 17" or 15" model's optibay). It's very possible that you could find one, but the odds are stacked against you.

So you have one working......
I am putting a 6G in my main bay, and thinking of just putting a 3G in the optibay to avoid the headaches....
