Anyone test 4.3 Beta's Airplay?

I'm very interested in the new airplay functionality in the 4.3 Beta. If anyone has installed it, does it immediately allow you to stream video to Apple TV in apps that support Airplay, or do these apps need to be upgraded? For example, an App like the ABC app has airplay enabled for streaming audio, but after this 4.3 update, will it suddenly be able to stream video too?

Also, can it stream video that isn't native, like AVIs from the VLC player?

based on the story that was released this morning, I think the App would have to be approved beforehand

I believe the Apple TV also needs to be updated before it will receive the video.
