I know you can do dual esim. What happens if you do that plus put in a physical sim? Would you be able to switch between the three?
 
You would call or login to your carriers website and get the qr code.
Unless it's Verizon where you have to call and hope someone knows what an esim is then get transferred and wait 30min for it to hopefully work. Was such a poor process I requested a physical sim again.
 
Just as above, had a horrible time trying to get that to work (T-Mobile was clueless, and so was Apple itself), so went on and purchased a dual-physical sim version of a 12 pro max. Its a version available only for parts of China, HK, and it's not sold in the US. But I travel places and it works flawlessly, it's like having two phones in one.

It took 2 hours but I finally got a hold of a tech that knew what he was doing. It was actually a very cool process.
