Anyone to make the eject button work on my externa cdrom?

I just bought a plextor dvdrom and the eject button on it and the eject key won't work. it gets to be annoying to have to go to itunes or drag the disc to the trash to get it out.

I'm not sure why that wouldn't work, but another option is to add an eject button to your Menu Bar. To do that, double-click the following file:

/System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/Eject.menu​

To remove it, Command+drag it off.

that part I figured out. better if I could put it on the dock.
