Anyone tried Family Setup with S3 Cellular yet ?

I know Apple officially claimed S4 or newer for this feature but 38mm S3 is better size for kids and I keep an old S3 Cellular around and dont really see any technical reason for it not to work. However I have to stick with WatchOS 6 on my S3 for a little longer so cant try this myself right now but would like to know if anyone tried that yet.

We really don't know about existing Series 3 LTE watches yet. Since Apple no longer sells the LTE version of the Series 3 that may have lead to the wording about support for the Family Setup.

Why can't you upgrade your S3?

Maybe you want to give it a try. My Series 3 Cellular upgraded last night and it responds quicker. Only thing that I don't like at the moment is how Notifications are now handled in WatchOS 7. Long Touch is gone and is replaced with a Clear All button.

Why can't you upgrade your S3?

Just doing some dev work and need to keep it on 6 for now but hopefully not for long. I will eventually try it and report back here unless someone else does first. Also I'm unclear on carrier support for this where I am so probably a better shot trying it later anyways once carriers wake up and actually implement support for this feature.
