I know that 9600M card isn't exactly a gaming legend, but you reckon it can handle some modern games. Is it better than the old ATi x1600 card that I have in my 2007 MBP for example, because it's still running the latest games very nicely.

Asking because I'm about to buy my gf a 13inch uMBP and a strange turn of events means she wants to play a new game that's coming out with it (I play MMOs every now and then and she seems to want to join me on one)

The 13" uMBP has the integrated 9400M card, not the 9600M. The 15" second tier model has the 9600M + 9400M cards. In any case, most games will run just fine with the 9400M, even though it's an integrated card. MMOs should run well.

Ah thanks, my mistake with the name of the card. That would explain why Google wasn't coming up with the goods

What game(s) are you talking about?

AION, an MMO out in September..
