As some of you know, Macromedia recently released both JRun 4 Developer Edition and ColdFusion MX for JRun 4 for Mac OS X. You can read more about it in the press release here and download both here.

I installed both and my initial impression (I'm not a developer, so my impression could be wrong) is that JRun 4 is a more user-friendly version of EJB containers like the open source jBoss. I've followed the instructions on installing ColdFusion, and I can't seem to get it to work. For any J2EE developers out there, I want to know what your general thoughts are if you've tried them both.

CFMX on OSX

I've been using a linux port of CFMX on OSX for the last 2-3 months and it is alot more stable than any other version on NT,2000 or Advanced server that I've used.
I've just got JRun4 running but I haven;t installed the offical release of CFMX yet !!! But I guess it can't be any worse than the Linux port.
