Hi. Has anyone tried a new MBP fitted with an SSD? I have a version A 1.6/HDD Air that I love carrying around, but I am disappointed by its speed and the gradual weakening of the hinges. My wife doesn't mind it so much. So the old Air becomes formally hers, and I am ready to get a workhorse laptop for myself. I don't need much disk space nor graphic power to play games, but I would love to have more speed and efficiency. So I was thinking about the new 2.53 GHz 15" MBP with either 128 Gb SSD or 320 HDD @ 7200 rpm. With the SATA clocking cut back to 1.5G that people are talking about with new MBPs, would an SSD still be noticeably quicker than a 7200 rpm HDD? What do you guys think?

SSD would definitely be faster than 7200rpm HD but have you looked at previous gen models from refurb store? Awesome deals and they have 3GB/s SATA. Also, buying SSD from 3rd party is cheaper and you can use your old HD as external
