It seems Apple have to give a 2 year EU or 6 year UK warranty but that after 6 months that the burden of proof shifts to the consumer. i.e within a year if its broken without signs of mistreatment Apple will replace it because they have a voluntary 1 year policy. But after that if its broken with no signs of mistreatment you must prove it is apples fault and that the defect was in the product when you bought it.

1) How would you even begin to prove it was apples fault.

2) Has anyone tried to use this warranty? Did you have any luck?
