Has anyone used the new Windows 10 Phone Companion with their iPhone?

The description here (http://www.extremetech.com/computing/211528-how-to-sync-your-android-or-iphone-to-windows-10) says (my bolding)...

If you use a USB cable to plug an iPhone into your PC, the Phone Companion app shows less information than it does for Android devices. It just shows the storage status for the iPhone. It does not show phone model information or the battery charge level. It does, however, provide the same Photos and File Explorer links to help the iPhone user to copy files to the PC.

It's the bit that I've bolded that I'm interested in.

1 - Does the "File Explorer link" only allow files to be copied to the PC or can files also be copied from the PC to the iPhone?

2 - What types of files can be copied? Does the file explorer capability have write access to the Music app folder on the iPhone?

All my iPhone data is located on the cloud (not iCloud) except for my music which is all ripped from CD and converted to AAC and the master copies stored on my PC (well, my NAS actually). This means that my only need for iTunes on my PC is to copy new music onto my iPhone which I probably only do 3 or 4 times a year. I like to install as few extra apps on my PC as possible so I'm really hoping that Windows 10 Phone companion might allow me to drag music from my PC into the Music app folder on my iPhone and hence avoid me needing to install iTunes at all.
