There are all these cheap flash players around, but they all say they require windows.

Your experiences?

not a fan of the Sansas. a friend has one and it pales in comparison to the iPod nano. but if you must...

(from a review on CNET of the Sansa c240)
To transfer music to the Sansa, use the included USB cable to connect the player to either a Windows or Mac PC. Note that you'll need to first select the mode--MTP or MSC, respectively--in the settings menu. Mac users can simply use the drag-and-drop method in Finder to transfer artist or album folders to the player's music folder. Windows users have a choice of transfer methods: use drag-and-drop or a WMA jukebox such as Windows Media Player or Rhapsody. The Sansa is compatible with MP3s and both protected and unprotected WMA files. The player supports playlists as well.

i have a sansa. i bought it b/c i was much cheaper than the nano.
now? waiting someone to crash my sansa so that i have excuse to buy a nano.

if you only use it occasionally, it may not be too much a problem. otherwise, i really dun like using sansa. i really wished i did not waste the money on sansa

It is a solid product with a nice feature set and it was the first and only product that was a 6gig flash device, but you rockbox it it can be great. However, if you want a device that has a nice feature set and is price right check out the 4gig Meizu M8 which is on sale at Walgreens.com for a fair price of $100 and if you can find the 8gig one can go for $150.
