Hi All-
I ran Stellar Phoenix Data Recovery to retrieve my MP4 (GoPro video files) files from my trashed trash. They all were recovered but only a few short (~10s videos) MP4's played all the way through. All the other MP4's stop at about 3s, when the video stops it shows a single frame as the play bar continues progressing to the end.
I noticed that some of the videos show a small degree of pixelation or aberrant format when the frames stop. Before the videos stop on a frame (and the play bar keep moving) the picture quality is excellent. So, I believe the process of trashing and recovering the files have corrupted them.
Question, does anyone know if SP Video Repair will restore these MP4s? I have used the trial version and its preview feature which works on all the MP4s, problem is the preview only shows 10 MB of the beginning of each file you run through it. That 10 MB correlates to ~2-3 seconds of footage, which is exactly the length of the preserved "good" footage. The section of video that is corrupted lies just past what you see in preview therefore I'm not knowing if the videos are being fixed.
I read that if the preview plays then that means the video has been fixed, I just have a hard time believing it, and what a coincidence the faulty section lies fractions of a second beyound what the Video Repair software can show you.
Anyone have any experience using this software?
