I don't see a whole lot of people with the X so I was wondering if anyone has gone from the X to the 12 pro?

I know it's quite a bit of an upgrade but just wanted your overall thoughts in terms of design (especially bezel size which I know is small but still wanted your thoughts) and camera quality.

I am on the fence with the 12 pro vs 12 pro max (no 12 or mini) so I am waiting to test out sizes in the store before going through with it.

I have an XS which I only bought January this year. Trade in value is less then half of what I paid for it. It was £699 outright. I would like the 12 pro but don’t want to lose over £300 plus I feel it might be too big as to me the XS and 11 pro are the perfect size for me. I don’t think the extras the 12 pro brings warrants the money I would lose on trade in for my XS. I might hold onto it for another year as it’s in pristine condition and battery health is good at 97%. It’s plenty fast for me and only use the camera occasionally.

I’ve got a x
my wife has an 11 - it’s camera is way better in low light.
i‘m upgrading but still conflicted - want 12 max camera, in smaller size.
not sure if mini is too small

I have an X and broke my screen and back glass a few months ago. Instead of paying Apple for a full device swap I decided to hold out to upgrade instead.

I picked up my phone on Friday night and have been busy most of the weekend. Will play more, but feel free to ask additional direct questions.

My first impressions are the device geeks solid and I like flat edge though the X is a design I also love. Although it is taller than the X I am not bothered by it. Feels easier to hold.

The camera is a fair bit better, but I need to fully absorb it all. I would have loved the Pro Max cameras in the Pro. The Max is just far too big for me to lug around. Since you are considering it I would wait until it drops and you can compare them both. Both are a lot better than the X though.

5G is meh so I wouldn’t jump ship for 5G specifically. For me it is faster than LTE at times, but not jaw dropping. I am on T-Mobile. Of course, signal and all that jazz will vary.

All that said. If I didn’t wreck my phone I would have rocked the X another year. It is still a great phone and I feel next year will usher in battery improvements and possibly a killer 5G app.

I come from a X and yes the 12P is gorgeous, pacific blue is astounding, but I don’t know, my iPhone X wasn’t that bad. I didn’t get anything that blows my mind, not feel it much more faster, or the camera much more better (LIDAR is great don’t misunderstand me and UW too). Battery life it’s the greatest improvement I felt, but my iPhone X was in 76% of battery’s health.
I’m thinking on returning my 12P and replace the battery on my X and restore the oleophobic coating with some kit from Amazon.

I upgraded from an X to the 12 Pro. So far I am quite satisfied with the new phone. The camera is a nice improvement over the X. I also enjoy the slightly larger size of the 12 Pro. I have noticed an improvement in cellular signal strength. This is likely due to Apple using Qualcomm modems exclusively on the 12’s. (My X had an Intel modem 👎🏻) 5G is also turned on in my area and I work out of an area that has mmWave. I am seeing a pretty decent improvement in cellular speed.

I tend to hold on to my phones for a while and I remember saying when I got the X that I wouldn’t give it up until there was a 5G iPhone. So overall, I’m glad I upgraded and I plan to hold onto my 12 Pro for quite some time! 🙂

I went from an iPhone X to a 12 Pro. My X was still a fantastic phone in perfect condition. I had the battery replaced by Apple at the end of 2018, so battery life and performance were still good, even with iOS 14. That being said, I am loving the 12 Pro. The cameras are the most obvious difference, especially in low light situations. I take a lot of pics, so it's a very worthwhile upgrade. I also like the new design and the slightly bigger screen. The 12 does feel faster, but my X certainly didn't feel slow.

I can see myself being very happy with the 12 Pro for three years, just like I was with my X. At AUD$1,869 it's not cheap, but for me it is well worth it.

Wondering about this too, I have an X and thinking once a 12 pro is in a case there will be very little difference in look or performance to justify the cost. Going to wait until the Max is out and see if that is too big but at least that would be an obvious difference to what I've got now!

I upgraded from the X to the 12 Pro. I have decided this morning that I am going to return the 12 Pro and keep the X for another year (just needs a new battery). Technically the 12 Pro is so much better, but for £1k I just don’t love it. There is nothing that’s blowing me away. It’s just a nice phone. Maybe that’s because what I use it for isn’t that demanding so I’m not getting the most out of it.

I also have an iPhone X as well. Bought it open box from BestBuy in early 2019. So it’s got a pretty fresh battery in it. Hard to consider an upgrade for essentially a better camera and 5G (not currently useful). Next year’s iPhones should have a bigger battery and 120Hz screens. So why upgrade now unless your phone is totally dead?

This is precisely how I feel. I am going to wait another year. The X lives on!
