Did anyone pre-order series 10 and traded/sold their Series 7? What's your reasoning for the upgrade?

I am going to the store this weekend to investigate possibly trading in my green S7 to the jet black S10. Looking to see if the larger screen and thinner shape make a difference. I may also use it for sleep tracking.

Yes. I’ve had it since day1 and battery is getting used up, thinner, a touch bigger screen, playback of music out of the watch, can actually use water temp feature for what I do, seeing the seconds hand always on (I guess in limited face), curious if I can use the finger tap for something.

Yup. Trading my SS S7 for a natural Ti S10. I also have the Ultra for workouts and hiking, but will make the S10 my main watch.

Yep. I got a s7 day one too. My battery is at 80% and I’ve had a couple of random shutdowns. Any year there’s a design change (even minor) is an upgrade year for me.

I have sold my s7 to pick up s10 on Monday at Apple Store.
Bigger screen, somewhat of a new design, a few new features.
Fresh battery is a must now my 7 is getting older.

Here's another one and this is why I upgrade:

- 7% bigger screen
- 10% thinner
- almost 10% lighter
- AOD refreshing every second (I hope they extend it to many faces…)
- 40% brighter screen when viewed from an angle
- 33% faster charge
- Sleep apnea detection
- Better SiP
- 2000 nits
- Car crash detection
- Get my first Cellular model

With these first three points it has to be the most comfortable AW ever.

This is the third redesign in a decade (Series 4, 7 and now 10). And after each redesign have come the weakest years in terms of new features (gold medal for the Series 8).

People keep repeating like parrots that it's the same as every year. They talk about straight frames, circular watches, mechanical bezels… There are people who would even be delighted with a triangle-shaped watch simply because it is different. If you want a different Apple watch design, the Ultra already has it.

This year we have a thinner watch than ever, with a more square look, a larger screen at 46 mm than the 49 mm Ultra, the look of the speaker has completely changed, the back has completely changed…

I also think this is because many people don't get much use out of their and have a hard time spending money on that. People who do not even value something as fundamental as AOD or who simply read notifications and little else. For these people, the only hope is that the watch is visually different so that others see that they have the latest model.

I am. Currently have a SS Gold. Love the watch to death but battery health is an issue.

Leaning towards Gold Titanium 10. Would like to see Jet Black Aluminum and Ultra 2 Satin Black in person this weekend.

I’m on the fence and it’s driving me nuts. There’s a lot to love about the 10. Then I see the Ultra 2 and think I’d like a larger watch that I’d use without a case (wrists are 8.1” so ave to slightly above? lol I have no clue).

Then I get torn between the sleekness of the 10, the size and look of the Ultra 2, and which color U2 I even prefer. Cause it changes for me.

Thennn I think of how I’ve only lately been wearing my 7 WiFi/cellular 45mm with 99% battery life cause it’s sat in a drawer 😆🤦🏻‍♂️

TLDR - I’m a disaster of a mess. I want a shiny new toy, but can’t choose which one, when reality says use your 7 that’s been collecting dust all while saving $529/$799 pre tax.

I’ll see my way out 🚶🏻‍♂️‍➡️

I have a S7 Graphite and am adding a S10 Slate Ti today. I had an AWU 2 that I sold this summer and went back to using a Garmin 965 for running and cycling workouts.

The S7 has held up very well except for battery life, which is why I think I’ll hang onto it as backup. The trade in value was low ($125) and I’m not motivated at the moment to sell it privately.

Got it today, it's nice in jet black but honestly my S7 still has 100% health because I power it off every night and the larger display is not noticeable but the fat bezels are.

Was going to but didn't. I have the Graphite SS S7. Hate they dropped SS for Titanium. The black looks and feels like a cheap toy. My S7 is at 92% battery and I pay monthly AC+ on it, so in 6 months it'll get a "intermittant fault" and I'll get a fresh one via express replacement with 100% battery health.

I'll wait for Ultra 3 next year.

The larger bezels are the biggest reason keeping me from upgrading. I’m using a stainless steel AW7 with original stainless steel link bracelet and it still looks amazing and sleek with the tiny bezels.

I considered going titanium gold with titanium gold link bracelet but it’s just too much money for too little difference.

Horrible watch, what has Apple done I brought it 46mm going from series 7 45 and the display is not bigger you can’t notice it at all, you don’t gain any extra text. I see why they didn’t compare it to series 9. The bezels are huge and make it a huge step down, returning it this week and will get a series 9, Apple you had one job to do and you messed up. Don’t say it’s the biggest display when the human eye can’t notice it

I didn’t even noticed the display any bigger and the bezels make it look more like a series 6. Series 7 still looks more classy. Why didn’t they actually put a noticeable screen improvement, the leaked renders looked so much better

This is what I expected from Apple not a downgrade with the series 10 having bigger bezels and not much if any noticeable screen improvements, you honestly can’t notice the series 10 is bigger display than series 7 8 9. You don’t even get any more space for extra lines. That’s why they compared it to a 4 year old watch, I wish Apple had the right team to make a watch like this. Now this render is what we should have gotten

Nope, mainly because I went to android for 18 months. Awaiting my 16 pro. As long as I can use GPS to track activities and fire up my 2fa code app then I'm all set.

I usually update when watch conks out or breaks.

Buy the Ultra 2 and wear your series 7 while you sleep. I have an Ultra 1 and series 7 and that how I use them. Good luck!

That's how I use mine, too. The battery capacity on my Ultra 1 is pretty reduced, so will likely use it for workouts and then use the S10 for daywear and sleep tracking. Or use the Ultra for sleep tracking and exercise and the S10 for daytime. I'll have to see how the battery lasts.

I have pretty much have had two different Apple watches I alternate between for the last 6 years, trading my SS Gold Series 7 for the new Titanium Gold, but I also have a SS Graphite Series 9. I tend to wear my S9 more than the 7 because I really liked it a lot better looking forward to picking up my new 10 a bit later today.
