I use this 100% of the time on my current macbook pro. It's going to be weird without one (if I ever upgrade, I have an early 2008 model so I'm sticking with this one for a while)

I think its awesome for the whole trackpad to be pushed down to click. You dont have to use your thumb anymore, I think it will be very efficient in use.

apple is definitely trying to innovate their notebooks and this new trackpad shows it. i think that the concept is pretty interesting but i want to try it out for myself before i give a real opinion about it.

I'm actually quite pleased with this direction. The actual button didn't look good because it was never flush with the case and the track pad. This looks much better and is way more functional. Yes, the trackpad actually clicks.

How do we drag and select text now?

I mean, I like it, and I'm sure they thought of this, but, I really want to know how you do it...

I've read several impressions of using the thing, and all of them say if you just use it as you always do, and forget the button is gone, you won't notice it's missing. I think you'll be fine.

When i first saw the pics with no buttons i was pissed. Then I heard and saw the button action and it struck me. Its either:

1. A technology that Apple has pioneered (innovation if you will;)

2. Old tech that apple has resurrected and implemented in the mainstream (could explain why the idea seems so familiar to me)

3. Fits into some crazy idea I vaguely remember from being younger.

Either way it just seems familar to me for some reason. Maybe thats just being intuitave on apples part?
