Anyone have an iMac but use a 3rd party mouse and an Apple track pad?

Am I correct in saying that only the Apple magic mouse can do the in built gestures, like swipe between desktops etc?

So to counter this you could use the Apple track pad and a different non Apple mouse?

I'm just finding the magic mouse a bit uncomfortable, as now using the iMac a lot more, It's an m1 iMac if that makes a difference.

If using a different mouse, which is best? Reading up but looks like Mx master 4 is well rated, but £119!?!

I would definitely recommend the MX Master Series.

I have the MX Master 3S on my work computer, and it's a great mouse. It's expensive but has definitely increased my productivity and speed at navigating the OS compared to the Magic Mouse. It doesn't support gestures in the same manner as the Magic Mouse but with the customization offered by the Logi Options+ program it comes close to offering the same functionality.

I have the Ergo M575 at work and MX Ergo at home without installing their software. The swipe feature is indeed unavailable.

Not having had a different mouse, is there much difference, if anyone has had both, to the mx master 3S and Mx master 4?

With a code I can get the 3S for £63, whereas the 4 will be still full price £120, nearly doubled the price.

Reading a little about differences, seems better materials on 4, but functionality are they the same?

I use a Magic Trackpad alongside an MX Master or MX Ergo, depending on the desk. I like scrolling on the trackpad, but using the mouse for everything else. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also have an MX vertical for when my hands hurt. But if hands don't hurt MX Master is my favorite.

I recently went from the MX Master 3S to MX Master 4.

They're extremely similar, but I slightly prefer the MX Master 4. The haptic stuff is kinda neat. But if the price difference is meaningful to you, get the 3S, it's 99% the same mouse.
