I am fairly new to mac (again) and I love my Nord Modular G2. I used is with my PC through a whole series of connections and other equipment but now want to simplify. Does anyone know if this synth can be used in GarageBand somehow with just the USB connection? Or do I still have to have a midi interface? Otherwise, can you import the sound library into GarageBand? I have them all on the original disc in .pch2 format.

Thank you in advance.

Using a MIDI or USB connection would essentially bypass all of the Nord's internal bits - you would end up with a mediocre and incredibly expensive MIDI controller (which are available for under $100 now).

You will really need to connect the Nord in via an Audio connection, to record the actual sound produced by the Nord. The line in built into your Mac will work but I wouldn't expect it to sound too incredible!
