Anyone use an iPad for their Phone

I was wondering if anyone uses their iPad for a phone? I do not use my cheapo phone very often, and I am looking to possibly ditch that and just use a new iPad Air or Mini. Any thoughts, is it doable?

Yep. I use a combination of Google Voice, iMessage, Skype and Talkatone. I have no need for a separate phone.

I was looking at that talkatone app. I would like to finish out my 2 year contract, and then maybe just use an iPad mini probably.

I'm interested in that route, too. I rarely use my iPhone as a phone, so moving to a cellular iPad with some sort of internet-phone capability might make more sense to me. I'd prefer to avoid anything related to Google or Facebook, but I'm also a cheapskate...

It's definitely possible considering the range of free VoIP apps!
