Yesterday Dev-team released a untethered 4.2.1 jailbreak, anyone try it on your iPad?

If you were currently on a tethered jb,
did you have to reinstall app store and/or cydia apps?

I was not on a tethered. But the tool produces a custom firmware and makes you put the iPad into DFU mode so you have to "Restore". But then I think you can reapply a backup to get the app store apps back and Cydia has a pkg backup program you can use. I chose to set everything new again.

Perfectly from what starting point ?

Anyone try to just Shift Update the firmware on a tethered JB 4.2.1 iPad?

Dont want to risk losing all my apps and related files.

My iPad was already jalbroken with 4.2.1 but I wanted to start over again, so I used pwnage tool 4.2 to create a custom ipsw, then loaded it in iTunes.

I used GreenPoison yesterday on my previously tethered iPad. Worked great and I did not have to reinstall any apps.

The OP is talking about PwnageTool.... with this you have to restore. If you do not want to restore, just use GreenPois0n.
