Hi all:
I've been debating making a media center setup for a while now. I'm in the process of backing up my library and am about 400 movies and tv shows into the process. I've been converting everything using Handbrake on the Apple Universal setting with a few minor tweaks. I keep it all on an external hard drive that I travel with and watch on my netbook. I'd love to be able to watch on my tv at home too.
So, I know a mac mini or an appleTV would be ideal, but I don't really need that full capability. I just want to be able to watch my ripped movies. Not really worried about surfing the net, screen sharing, renting movies online, streaming content, etc... I came across the Iomega Screeplay TV Link. Anyone use this? Sounds like it might be a nice little stopgap until I really want to get elbow deep in setting up an HTPC? Any thoughts? Thanks!
