Anyone use the single link DVI adapter?

I'm in the market for a 13" MBP as I need the portability and plan to connect it to my Samsung monitor (1920 x 1080) while at home on the desk. Anyone have experience using the single-link DVI to display port adapter and was it good or bad? The Apple site reviews are a little discouraging and I don't want to use the old analog VGA port on the monitor.
