Anyone used the Evolution MK425C?

I have an Evolution MK425C USB keyboard that I'd like to use with my iMac that's coming soon. I tried it on a friend's iMac, plugged it in, and got an error saying "The USB device is drawing too much power". It then disabled the USB port. I then realized that I plugged it into the Apple keyboard's USB ports instead of the ports around the back. I haven't tried it since. Has anyone successfully used the MK425C? It says on the box that it's compatible with Mac OS X, and I think my problem is due to using an underpowered port, but I'd just like to know for sure.
