Hello all,

My mother has asked me to look into upgrading her phone for her and has shown much interest in my iPod touch, so I am looking at perhaps getting her an iPhone.

The only problem is that she spends much of her time on the Isle of wight, particularly between Ventnor, bonchurch and shanklin, and I have no idea whether she would get any signal in these places. I am told that O2 and orange are the best networks here, but how does the iPhone fair in this area?

Thanks all

Hey I visited the IOW twice last year and on both times I had no problem using my iPhone on o2 (from what I can remember). Might have had a few signal problems as I got closer to the coast (Ventnor, Blackgang etc) but no different from a normal handset.

I was living in the isle of Wight for a year and the reception was great throughout. From Ryde to St Catherines point (peperpot).
