Finer stores everywhere.
I was wondering if anyone has used one of the following enclosures:

and

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817145132

My main purpose is to get about 45GB of data off an old WD Caviar 60Gb drive, and then put in a likewise old WD 250GB drive to hold backups of music and such, or even to use as a Time Machine backup for my MacBook. The Vantec gets good reviews, and the price is much nicer, but I hear so many good things about OWC enclosures and the Oxford firewire chipsets they use that I wonder if it would be worth the price, even though I don't currently have a machine with FireWire. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have multiple OWC drives, including a 1TB OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro in the 'Quad Interface' enclosure. I'm extremely happy with everything I've gotten from OWC. With the OWC enclosure, you can use it with USB for now, then simply plug into Firewire when you get a Mac with a FW port.
