I am so confused...
I made the jump from PC to Mac last year.
20" Imac / 2.0 Intel Core Duo (not Core 2 Duo), 2gigs RAM, 256 graphics card...
Yet I just don't think that MAC is a ZIPPY fast computer.

Songwriter, Garageband (for basic instruments) and Albeton Live / MBOX 2
Applications take a while to open. Previewing wavefiles is not as snappy as I expected. New XP Windows computers FLY through these tasks.

I Ebayed my Imac because I want to upgrade to at least CORE 2 DUO, unless they realese an Intel Quad chip or something soon.

I was at the APPLE STORE yesterday doing a test...
Launching Garageband on different computers.
EVEN WITH A 17" CORE 2 DUO at 2.33 with 2 gigs of Ram and a 256 graphics card / 5400 RPM drive, it seemed to take a while to open GarageBand. What's up with that? The 24" Imac with a 7200 rpm drive was no faster.

I just don't know what to Buy now? Could a laptop be the primary recording computer? I'm not talking 32 tracks of ProTools with automation.

Are the Intel Mac really that fast? Can I get a witness?:D
