Anyone using a DVI extension cable - I'm have a problem w/ mine

Is anyone using a DVI extension cable w/ their 2010 MP? If so what brand and how long is it? (I have the stock 5780).

Curious b/c I bought a 10ft cable from Monoprice that prevents my 2.8 QC from booting. The power supply just makes a clicking sound. When I remove the cable my machine boots normal. Also if I plug the DVI extension cable in after I boot all is fine. The problem is booting. Anyone ever seen anything like this before?

Also no problem booting my 24" ACD w/ mini displayport extension cable.

The DVD extension cable is dual-link - not sure if that is a factor or not, though the 23" ACD is single-link.

I have had problems with a DVI extenstion adapting to HDMI, but more of video artifacts, not boot problems.

What are you extending it to? Is it DVD to DVI? You can either email or call MonoPrice, they can help you sort out the dual-link vs. single-link problem. They have very good support.

Weird problem though.....
