In other thread I've asked specific for rMBP information but I think I have to switch to the software I want to run. Maybe that will resuls in more helpfull information :)

Thanks

I run it on a mid-2012 cMBP 13", 2.5Ghz i5 Processor; the only change to the stock spec is I've upgraded to 16GB RAM.

It works perfectly fine for what I need (editing footage from my FireWire camcorder).

Hmm the retina's 'only' have 8Gb. Does your machine also have a SSD?
That could make a difference with the huge files

I'm running on a 2012 13" cMBP i7 2.9Ghz / 8md ram and SSD. No issues at all. Due to my library being large, I keep my pics on a USB 3.0 drive with a 7200 rpm hdd, which only produces a minimal lag. I'm eventually going to upgrade that hdd to a ssd when Crucial releases the M500 line later this spring which will provide a close to 1TB ssd for about $600 USD. Can't wait!

Ok, then the 13 inch rMBP basic should be fast enough...

No SSD (at the moment!) I'm still using the 'stock' hard disk.

aha so with the new 13 rMBP's with SSD but the same CPU, the performance would even be better due to the faster SSD

Thx
