looking to get into VR with an iPhone 5, what's the 4 inch screen of the iPhone 5 like when it comes to VR, anyone tried it?

i tried on the iphone 6 and it was mediocre. the screen is not high enough resolution. the sony xperia x5 or galaxy s7 premium with their 1440p and UHD displays are better for vr.

apple says vr is a priority but they talk BS

It's is at least usable for general YouTube viewing or would the 5 be too small? Looking to only get the cardboard at 5.99

i suppose you can dip your toes in vr so for the price of google cardboard it's worth it

On my 6s it is usable with cardboard, but looks pretty bad. As d4rkc4sm said, it is not high enough resolution to look impressive.

Even with 1440p, it looks bad. I saw no significant difference in quality using an S7 vs 6S Plus for VR.

The s7 with 1440p does look pretty bad, but it's noticeably a lot better than the 1080p 6s+.

I'm looking forward to trying with the s8 in the spring with 4k.

If Apple actually was interested in VR, they would sell a bunch of headsets. No reason for them holding off on it. AR may be cool to look at, but VR is where the true fun begins.
