Any drawbacks I should know about using a 5s with a AW?

Won't have a 6s until January?

One of my coworkers has an Apple Watch and loves it, and he has a pre-6 iPhone... not sure which one. Its either a 5, 5s, or 5c.

There is no drawbacks as it add's Apple Pay to both devices which is a massive plus!!

My girlfriend has a 5c. The only draw back is that the 5c does not have a motion co-processor; so if you're pushing a stroller or shopping trolley you don't get the right number of steps. With newer devices the iPhone will pick up your steps if need be and feed them into Apple Health.

Not sure what you mean by "...to both devices..." but :apple:Pay is only available on the :apple:Watch (which should be fine for the OP). The 5x doesn't have the secure chip for :apple:Pay.

Thanks guys. I could either get a 6s plus or AW for my birthday. The hang up with the phone is I'd be using my moms upgrade and would need to pay outright or just wait until Jan when corporate will upgrade me for free. Seems like AW WINS.

Yeah, I've been rocking my AW with my 5S and it works great!

No known drawbacks with my 5S. Besides getting to use Pay now, I think the W lets me save my 5S's aging battery.
