Anyone using CS6 on their 2020 iMac in a VM?

Hello. I’m planning to buy a 27” Intel iMac soon. Since CS6 is unsupported on modern MacOS’s due to lack of 64-bit libraries, I was wondering how it performs in an older 32-bit MacOS VM. Is GPU acceleration supported? Would I have any issues working with ~200MB files?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

You can try, to use MacOS VM, but in my test, it is slow and GPU acceleration didn't work for me.

Your other options are:

• using a Windows version of CS6 trough WINE/CrossOver or some kind of Virtualization (aka VirtualBox/VMWare Fusion/Parallels + Windows install) or even under Bootcamp
• subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud
• look for commercial or other alternatives (Affinity etc.)
• use your old Mac/macOS until it dies or you can switch to Adobe CC

No GPU acceleration is disappointing. Looks like it’s either gonna be CS6 in a Windows VM or I’ll finally give Affinity a shot.
